Plenty to do and see near Lignano Sabbiadoro

As well as its famed shallow beaches and golden sands, Lignano Sabbiadoro also offers a series of excursions and activities to make your holiday a fun and entertaining one.

Cycle path and beach tours

The cycle paths that wind from Lignano Sabbiadoro through breath-taking natural routes, between the sea, pinewoods and laguna. Thanks to our free bike hire service, you will be able to enjoy a healthy bike ride in the heart of nature, in the peace and quiet of the area. If you fancy trying something to get the adrenaline going, you can always go on one of the tours with special bikes for cycling on the water’s edge (this service is not run by the hotel).

Fishermen’s huts

In the laguna, you can visit the characteristic fishermen’s huts, ancient huts made in strips of lake reed, built for shelter during fishing trips. They have since become a local tourist destination and can be reached by boat. Some of them even offer small eateries serving traditional dishes.

A trip to Shell Island

From mid-June to mid-September, you can leave the old port of Lignano Sabbiadoro towards the Marano Lagunare, the ancient Venetian fortress, full of architectural and historical beauty. On your way back, the motorboat takes a break on Shell Island, an island acting as a barrier between the sea and the laguna, where you can take a swim and enjoy unique scenery.

Food and wine tours

Friuli is the land of good food and wine par excellence. There are numerous food and wine tours near Lignano Sabbiadoro; you will simply be spoilt for choice. We recommend an unmissable visit to the San Daniele ham production factory or the Montasio cheesemakers, plus a wine-tasting in one of the area’s wine cellars, famous for their production of the best white wines in Italy.

Nearby towns and cities

Lignano Sabbiadoro’s envied location is perfect also for quickly getting to famous towns and cities in the area. Venice, Udine, Gorizia, Trieste and Aquileia are all worth a visit!
